INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Mesh Tribe — the platform built for the global riding community. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using Mesh Tribe.

Plain English: We collect data to make the app work well for you. We never sell your personal data. You stay in control.

Data Collection

WHAT WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide directly, and data generated automatically as you use the platform.

Account Information

Name, email, username, profile photo, and password. Optionally: bio, location, and riding preferences.

Garage & Riding Data

Bike details (make, model, year, modifications), ride history, and GPS routes if you use ride tracking.

Content You Post

Photos, videos, stories, articles, event listings, marketplace listings, comments, and messages.

Location Data

Precise location only when you enable ride tracking or event check-in. Approximate location from IP for regional content.

Marketplace Transactions

Listing details, transaction history, and payment info processed securely via our payment provider.

Device & Usage Data

IP address, browser/app version, device type, pages visited, time spent, and crash reports.

Purpose

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your information only for purposes directly related to running Mesh Tribe:

Deliver the platform — Power your account, Feed, Events, Tours, Marketplace, and all features.

Personalise your experience — Show events near you, tours for your region, and content from riders you follow.

Safety & security — Detect fraud, prevent abuse, and protect the community.

Communications — Send notifications you have opted into: new followers, event reminders, marketplace messages.

Improve the product — Analyse aggregated usage patterns to build better features and fix issues.

Legal compliance — Fulfil legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Legal bases (GDPR): performance of contract, legitimate interests, consent (marketing, non-essential cookies), and legal obligation.

Sharing

WHO WE SHARE WITH

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers — Trusted partners for hosting, payments, push notifications, analytics, and support. They process data only on our instructions.

Other users — Content you post publicly (feed, stories, marketplace, public profile) is visible to other riders as you intend.

Marketplace counterparties — When a transaction completes, relevant order info is shared between buyer and seller.

Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

Business transfers — In a merger or acquisition, data may transfer to a successor entity under the same protections.

Your Control

YOUR RIGHTS

Under GDPR and similar laws, you have the following rights over your personal data:

Request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Rectification

Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data.

Restriction

Ask us to limit processing in certain cases.

Portability

Receive your data in a machine-readable format.

Object

Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Email privacy@axelchains.app to exercise any right. We respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Data Lifecycle

DATA RETENTION

We retain data while your account is active or as needed to provide services. On account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days — except where law requires longer retention (e.g. transaction records for up to 7 years).

Aggregated, anonymised analytics data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

Protection

SECURITY

We use TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, strict access controls, and regular security audits. We also offer two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure — use a strong password and keep your credentials private.
